They tell you they want to meet in person, but first you must verify to prove you are “safe” or something along those lines. Then your “date” sends you a link to Tinder Safe Dating. The site advertises as a “free”.

Safe Personals Dating starts like this… You meet someone online, and they express interest in you. First however, you have to prove you are not a sex offender or serial killer, so you have to get verified first. The scammer sends you a link to Safe Personals on craigsfreehookup.com. It will have a name after it, something like /Amber2Jones.

Followed by a sub-site name, like /Amber2Jones. Scammers copy one site to the next. The URL might not be the same as the above. If you find a different URL that looks similar, please leave a comment below. That will help others avoid the scams. The picture of the website is at the end of this article.

What happens if you sign up?

Nothing good happens when you sign up to meet the girl. There are multiple sites, and it depends on which one you were sent. There are basically 2 themes, dating and pornography.

Door Number 1: Dating

You are registered for a branded dating site run by a white label dating service company. The Amber2Jones sub-site is currently directing people to Find True Romances. The billing site is fndtmc.com. That can and will change. Usually the sites are on a rotation.

Door Number 2: Pornography

First, you are registered for:

• A pornography site run by a white label pornography company (the actual site rotates)
• Gold Membership to an adult hookup site of questionable quality (has fake profiles)
• Mobile Access and Featured profile service (Presumably to the hook up site)
• A pornography site

The adult hookup sites change from time to time. There are many. I have found these sites

• Web-Hookup.com
• F#@!swipe.com

I am sure there are more and will update if I find them.

But wait there’s more!

For you added enjoyment, some scammer in a far away place has your email address. Your email is sold on the dark web – after the scammer is done spamming you of course. You are likely to be the recipient of a phishing attempt at some point in the future. See my note on that below.

They might even give you a credit card number to use!

What could be more awesome?

I don’t know what happens if you use the card number. What I do know is that it is fraud to use a credit card without authorization. Laws vary state to state but it could be a felony. Using this credit card information could also expose you to blackmail. How cool is that!!!

What does Safe Personals Cost?

Multiple recurring Monthly Charges from $39.99 to more than $139. The charges are NOT visible in the fine print.

How does this scam work?

There are two basic methods

1. A hidden “Iframe” web programming command redirects your credit card information without your knowledge. The site in the iframe redirects to another site that acts as a controller – it rotates to different dating or pornography sites.

2. Too Big for the smart phone. Pages purposefully designed so you need to swipe left to see the charges – which almost nobody will do.

When you enter your credit card, it is used for a trial period for the sites above. Since you cannot see the trial period and charges, you do not know to cancel. You will be sent an email, which might end up in the spam folder – assuming you used a real email.

Then when you next see your credit card statement, charges appear with a strange website name, that you nave never heard of. See the red box below.

When you enter your credit card, the iframe command shows only part of the page. If you go to the source code and click through, this is what is really on the page:

First, the email entry

Notice that the URL is different. It could the dating sites, or any one of the adult hook up sites mentioned above.

Then, you land on the billing page

Dating Theme:

You cannot see anything below the green button. Here is what is says:

Apparently you are also signed up for “Local Dates” and Inbox Partners. The terms (which you can see and click on say that you were shown any charges when you signed up (Which was $0).

The Pornography Theme:

You can only see the section that says “Verify Your Age Below”. Notice the URL “secure.lovelyamateur…” this is one of the rotating porn sites. On the right are the hidden charges. MyServiceCtr.com in the red box is what will appear on the credit card statement. This rotates along with the porn site.

What Controls the Redirect:

Go2cloud.org, owned by Seattle Technology. Lee Brown, also part of Tune.com an internet marketing company. Seattle Technology and Tune.com share the same Seattle office.

Who Owns Safe Personals

Safe Personals is a sub-site of craigsfreehookup.com, registered on November 3, 2017 anonymously in Panama.

Who Owns the Adult Hookup Sites?

The adult hook up sites are registered to Nautell Capital Limited, Nicosia Cypress. A web search indicates that the director for Nautell Capital is Narek Melkonian – that is an Albanian surname. Sources for company names in Cypress are commercial, paid access sites – not a government registry. I cannot verify the information there. Said differently, it could be purposefully falsified.

Who Owns the Dating and Pornography sites?

The dating, pornography and associated billing sites are usually registered anonymously. The companies are small, seemingly shell companies in Cyprus and the UK. You can find the company name on the bottom of the page of the billing site.

Selskapet Limited, from Nicosia, Cyprus owns the billing and pornography sites in this example. Nikolaous Stelios is the registered director. Same caveat as before.

You don’t get to meet the girl. There is no girl. It is as simple as that. It is worth noting that the porn sites, redirects etc. are all interchangeable with a few clicks. What you see today might not be there tomorrow, and back again the next day. Therefore, if it doesn’t match exactly with what you have read here, it is just another delivery of the same thing.
